How we check open-box units
Every unit goes through the same seven steps before it is listed.
1. Intake
We record the serial number, confirm the model and color, and check the contents against the manufacturer's packing list: robot, dock, dock base, power cable, rotating mop module and manual.
2. Signs of use
We look for anything that would mean the unit has been run in a home: dust in the bin or dock bag, used mop pads or filter, debris in the dock's washing tray, wear on the brushes or wheels. A unit that shows use is not sold as open-box.
3. Account and software
We power the robot on and confirm it is not bound to any Roborock account, so you can add it to your own app like a new device. We update it to the current firmware.
4. Robot function test
Charging on the dock, battery holds a charge, LiDAR maps a test area, suction runs at every level, main and side brushes spin, drive wheels and cliff sensors respond, obstacle sensors react, the mop module lifts and the water pump runs.
5. Dock function test
Auto-empty pulls debris into the bag, mop washing runs and the water heats, warm-air drying runs, and the tanks and washing tray hold water without leaking.
6. Cosmetic grade
We note any marks on the shell. Light scratches or scuffs are acceptable and disclosed on the product page; anything more is not sold at this grade.
7. Repack
We dry the dock, recount the accessories and pack everything in the original Roborock box or a plain replacement box with protective packing.
If you receive a unit that does not match this description, our 30-day return policy and 12-month limited warranty apply.
